Home Sales in SWVA outpace the rest of the state

The Virginia Association of Realtors recently reported that home sales in the Commonwealth fell slightly more than 18 percent in November 2006 … not good news for owners of homes in fast-growing areas like Loudon and Fairfax counties in Northern Virginia.  But there’s plenty of good news for those of us here in the New River Valley, as VAR also reported the strongest increase in the Commonwealth belonged to none other than Southwest Virginia at 35%!  The increased sales activity was certainly felt here among real estate professionals as the amount of inventory dropped from its yearly high of 14.17 months to 12.62 months between October and November.
